Measurements have been conducted of 21-cm H I absorption profiles towards 5 directions in the vicinity of Verschuur's (1969) cloud A (l approximately 226 deg, b approximately 44 deg). The results confirm the cold spin temperature (about 20 K) of the cloud. The H I column density varies by as much as a factor of 3 over an angular scale of 6 min (corresponding to a scale length of approximately 0.25 pc if the cloud is at a distance of 150 pc).
