Eighty to ninety percent of the observing time spent in queued observing mode with one to two Terabytes of high-quality visible and near-IR wide-field imaging data pre-processed and delivered to the community every month, exciting scientific programs like the CFHT Legacy Survey spread over many years, and a superb spectro-polarimeter already in high demand: this is the environment in which CFHT will be operating up to the end of the decade. To ascertain the success of this period and to insure that the observatory will be well prepared for beyond 2010, CFHT has established a plan that will serve as the basis for its development over the coming years:``2005-2010: CFHT's Golden Age''. This plan is designed to insure a period of excellent achievement, where efficiency and robustness of the observing process, quality of the services rendered to the CFHT communities, and the continued presence of a highly qualified staff through challenging technical developments will be the observatory's priorities.
