It is shown that the 2.6 mm CO emission profile in the regions of two unidentified 2.4-micron features observed near the galactic center is consistent with an explanation of these features in terms of inhomogeneities in interstellar extinction. From the observations the mass to luminosity ratio of the galactic central bulge is estimated to be 4.
