11 new positions of Nereid are given from observations made in May 1982 and April 1984 on the Danish-ESO 1.5-m reflector, and in March 1982 on the CFH 3.6-m reflector. These accurate measurements permit an improved determination of the orbital elements. The Keplerian motion is no longer valid, and the available theory of a disturbed motion is a much better model of the observed motion. However, the residuals suggest that this theory is not sufficient with respect to the quality of the modern data.
