Wireless student response systems or "clickers” as they are usually called are
becoming very widely used in teaching. Seventeen thousand are currently in use at the Univ. of Colorado.
This poster will present research-based results on what class goals clickers are good at accomplishing, what makes clicker use succeed, and what makes it fail?
We will show the effects of clicker use on student and faculty attitudes, and student learning. There is now clear, strong evidence that effective clicker use improves student learning AND enjoyment. The presentation is partly based on 3 Ph. D. Theses, two in physics and one in sociology, that are studying clicker use.
