Scientific paper

A total of 66 M supergiants have been surveyed for OH emission at 1612
MHz. One new source, S Per, has been detected and is the fifth known
supergiant OH/IR star. It is suggested that supergiant OH/IR stars are a
small percentage of the M-supergiant population.
