We propose a full-track 12-mm observation of PKS B2152-699, a prime example of a radio galaxy exhibiting a jet-cloud interaction. Current ATCA radio data have insufficient resolution and dynamic range to image the jet in the vicinity of the interaction region. The proposed observations will rectify this deficiency, allowing us to search for jet deflection and polarization enhancement or position-angle changes, to measure jet knots that might be associated with shock heating, and to search for the presence of a yet cooler component of gas (HII regions) in the vicinity of the complex emission-line gas lying beside the jet at the interaction site. In combination with extensive multiwavelength data sets for the source, our objective is to use the jet-cloud interaction to estimate the instantaneous jet power in a rather direct way.
