This paper summarizes the salient features of a telescope for the sub-mm wavelength region, which is being designed. Operating from a high and dry mountain the telescope will be used for astronomical observations in the atmospheric transmission windows between 350 microns and 3 mm wavelength. The surface accuracy will be approximately equal or less than 15 microns, the reflector diameter approximately 10 m and the pointing accuracy 1 arc second. Extensive use of graphite epoxy material shall eliminate thermal deformations.
