Background Radiation: Entropy, Universe: Expansion

Scientific paper

A formula of entropy of background radiation, a photon quasi-equilibrium state, has been obtained in a flat space. When a global motion, like the expansion of the cosmos is discussed, the cosmos is considered as a uniform and a quasi-equilibrium state. The total number of photons is more than 108 of the total number of baryons. This fact of astronomical observation shows that the entropy of photons is the entropy of the cosmos. Eliminating the temperature T, common variation, in formulas of the total energy and entropy of the cosmos, the authors have got a formula of entropy of the cosmos, which only depends on the radius of the cosmos. It shows that the total entropy of the cosmos is decreasing monotonously with the expansion of the cosmos. This result is consistent with the authors past works. It shows that the principle of entropy increase found for the macrosystems on the surface of Earth does not stand for some cosmosystems with the radius bigger than 10 light years.
