We present results on the luminous X-ray binary population from a survey of nearby, face-on spiral galaxies with the Chandra X-ray Observatory. We compare X-ray spectra and variability properties for these sources to those of Galactic X-ray binaries. We look for differences in the luminous binary population across Hubble type. We also compare the ultraluminous X-ray sources in our sample with both Galactic and extragalactic sources with the aim of classifying these sources. This work is supported by NASA contract NAS 8-39073 (CXC) and grant GO1-2092A.
