Equations are derived and solved for the motion of ions in Venus' ionospheric plasma. The influence of the electric field and ion retardation in the plasma are taken into account. Values are obtained for the critical escape velocities and the dissipative fluxes of H(+), He(+), and electrons from Venus' ionosphere. The planet's electric field and charge are determined, assuming that positive and negative particle fluxes are equal.
