There is compelling evidence that a concentration of dark matter, probably in the form of a supermassive black hole, exists at the Galactic center. This apparent point mass of ~ 2.5*E(6) M_sun interacts with the stars and winds in the central few parsecs of the Galaxy and dominates the kinematics of the region. The unique, compact radio source Sgr A* appears to be coincident with the center of the dark matter concentration and with a size of less than about 6x 10(13) cm at lambda 7mm is likely to be due to emission from the vicinity of the black hole. We discuss models of the accretion of the interstellar medium onto Sgr A* and compare them with models for the central engines of other galaxies.
