The gas-to-dust ratio has been measured in the directions of 55 elliptical galaxies by comparing 21-cm H I column densities with color excesses and absorptions for the galaxies. The value of the gas-to-dust ratio found in this study is similar to previous measurements, but the data suggest significant small-scale structure of the interstellar medium.
