In the entire history of X-ray astronomy, only about two dozen core-collapse supernovae (SNe) have been detected at ages of days to years old. Of these, only a handful have been well-followed temporally. Few general trends have emerged, and there is a clear need for better X-ray coverage at ages of ~years. Two SN subclasses stand out as deserving of particular attention, namely, the type Ic SNe, which have been associated with long-duration gamma-ray bursts, and the type IIn SNe, which are very poorly understood but have the highest X-ray luminosities seen in SNe. We propose observations of a number of interesting SNe of these subclasses at ages between one and five years.
