Diffraction-limited images of the central parsec of the Galaxy taken with Camera 1 (11'' FOV) of NICMOS are presented. The search for Sgr A* in a crowded field at 1.6 microns is discussed, as well an analysis of short-term variability that could be expected from an inhomogeneity in an accretion flow. The complex distribution of the ionized gas emission in the central parsec as imaged in Pa alpha and [FeII] is also shown.
