Balloon-borne experiments were conducted during 1972-1979 to investigate a possible correlation between short-period variations of gamma rays and internal gravity (or buoyancy) waves in the atmosphere. The data appear to indicate that there is such a correlation. Attention is also given to a possible correlation between solar activity and internal gravity waves in the atmosphere.
