Eight Ap stars for which periods had been determined by Winzer (1974) were the subject of an independent period determination. All were stars which were found to be short-period variables and which showed the typical small-amplitude variation associated with short periods. For six of these, the period was confirmed. For one, HR 9017, a different and better period was determined and for the remaining star, HR 4430, periodic variation was not observed.
