Photoelectric observations of the binary star U Coronae Borealis made since 1968 are presented and discussed in relation to the nature of the observed period variations. Light curves and epochs of primary minima were calculated based on observations in the B spectral band obtained with a single-channel photoelectric photometer. The O-C diagram of U CrB representing the residuals from a linear ephemeris formula are found to be represented by a smooth sinusoidal curve of period close to 30 years (3200 times the orbital period). Possible explanations of the observed period variation are considered, and it is concluded that they can best be explained by a light-time orbit of the eclipsing pair about a distant companion, with mass transfer from the secondary accounting for only a small perturbation of the light curve.
