Results of Einstein (HEAO 2) observations of the region between the Abell clusters A401 and A399 are presented. It is shown that each cluster has X-ray emission that extends about 2 Mpc from their respective centers. All of the emission between the two clusters can be explained as the simple superposition of foreground and background extended emission.
