Collisions between the fermions in the fluid interiors of neutron stars produce not only the usual frictional forces proportional to velocity differences but also thermal forces proportional to the temperature gradient. These thermal forces may be important in the very slow scale evolution of the fluid interior. A rigorous calculation of these forces based on the Boltzmann equations for the fermions is presented. There is a strong analogy between these effects and thermoelectric effects in metals, particularly with regard to the importance of nonconstant densities of states near the Fermi surface.
