Using Wood's (1972) lightcurve synthesis computer model, the yellow and blue photoelectric lightcurves of the single-line spectrum eclipsing binary TY Pup are analyzed, by processing Hurahata et al's. (1957) three-color observations, phased by means of van Houten's (1971) ephemeris. The light curves are treated independently of each other, and the main parameters, which are variable and responsible for the convergence of the model, are presented. A consistent set of elements from the yellow and blue lightcurves are derived, and the photometric elements together with the standard errors are listed. Computations indicate that the primary minimum is a transit. The primary star is considerably larger and brighter than its companion, and both have practically equal temperatures. For the adopted mass ratio q = 0.2, both components are greater than their Roche lobes. It is concluded that TY Pup is an evolved contact system with a large degree of overcontact.
