The effects of various assumed halos on the dynamics of spiral galaxies are studied, assuming that the halo population does not participate in the spiral arms because of the large dispersion of halo velocities. The models of Schmidt (1965) and of Miyamoto and Nagai (1975) are used as an axisymmetric background, and spherical halos are superimposed on the models, so that in a sphere of a 20 kpc radius, there is a given amount of mass following three possible density laws. Conditions are considered under which a density wave satisfying the Lynden Bell-Kalnajs (1972) dispersion relation passes through corotation, and some limits of the halo component of the galaxy mass are found
