AGILE is detecting intense gamma-ray emission above 100 MeV from a position consistent with the flat-spectrum radio quasar BZQ J1512-0905 (PKS1510-089) (VLBI coordinates (J2000): RA=15h 12m 50.5s, Dec.=-09d 05m 59.8s (Johnston et al. 1995, AJ, 110, 880)).
Integrating from 2011-07-02 04:30 UT to 2011-07-04 04:30 UT, a maximum likelihood analysis yields a detection at a significance level above 7 sigma and a flux above 7.0 x 10E-6 ph/cm2/s (E>100 MeV).
