Scientific paper

The measurements of the radio spikes with high time and frequency resolution by the spectrometer in Beijing Observatory may provide a self-consistent diagnosis for the ambient plasma parameters (magnetic field, density, temperature, wave vector, and the properties of nonthermal electrons). The diagnosis is based on the theories of the electron cyclotron maser instability and cyclotron resonance absorption. The harmonic number of the spike emission is confirmed by the comparison of the diagnosis with the typical parameters in solar corona.
