Active Galactic Nuclei: Iron Lines, Active Galactic Nuclei: Radiation Mechanisms
Scientific paper
Data show that, in some AGNs, Seyfert galaxies in particular, the observed iron line is found to be very broad and asymmetric, peaked at 6.4 keV, the position of Kα line of neutral or low-ionized iron, and extended redward to 4 - 5 keV. The generally accepted models - the "disk-line models" - are markedly incompatible with the observed line profiles and intensities.
