The profile and polarization of the interstellar 22OO-A feature are computed for the case of spheroidal graphite grains with a partial alignment. Effects of grain size and shape as well as effects of degree and direction of the alignment are considered. It is shown that oblate dust grains cannot reproduce the mean observed profile of the feature considered. For this purpose, prolate grains with axial ratios a/b = 2 - 3 and rV = 0.01 - 0.02 micron (where rV is the radius of an equivolume sphere) are suitable. Observations of the star Zeta Ophiuchi are discussed.
