The BAO 60/90/180 cm Schmidt with a 576 x 384 Thompson CCD covering a field of 25 x 17 arcmin has been used for a light-curve survey of variable objects. The Time-Saved Readout method was developed to enable high-speed photometry with dead time down to about 3 to 10 seconds and to save the disk space for long-series observations. Preliminary testing results are presented. Some problems relevant to the capability of the CCD for light-curve surveys are discussed.
