The ALEXIS (Array of Low Energy X-Ray Imaging Sensors) satellite will carry six wide-field telescopes for surveying the entire sky in three narrow wavelength bands (186, 171, and 133 A), with a spectral resolution of about 5 percent and a spatial resolution of 0.5 deg. Each telescope utilizes a multilayer mirror at near normal incidence. This paper describes the design of the ALEXIS multilayer mirrors, together with current progress in their fabrication. The mirrors are 12.8 cm in diameter and are comprised of alternating layers of molybdenum and silicon. They were fabricated with two-dimensional uniformity better than + or - 1.5 percent over 12.8-cm distances. A novel method (termed wavetrap) designed to reduce the multilayer-mirror reflectivity at 304 A was developed.
