Asteroid rotational properties such as pole direction and rotation period are analyzed, and it is noted that there might be a trend toward more rapid rotation rates among very small asteroids, and that the number of asteroids with known pole directions is too small to perform conclusive statistical studies. Further consideration is given to the shape, taxonomy, and chemical composition of asteroids, and it is observed that different taxonomic types are located at different heliocentric distances, and this compositional gradient is interpreted as a 'portrait' of the solar nebulae matter. It is concluded that most of the asteroid population was influenced by collisional processes, and the observed differentiations may be due to the physical differences of the target asteroids - their size, geometry, and impact velocities. Attention is also given to distant asteroids and Apollo-Amor-Atens asteroids.
