The direct effect of large-scale inhomogeneities on the X-ray background is studied for different populations of X-ray emitters in a flat universe. The properties of AGNs related to the X-ray background are reviewed. The relative intensity excess generated by spherical attractors in a high-density universe (Omega0 = 1) is analyzed. The effects of nonspherical attractors and the effective dipole generated by different local attractors are examined. The results are compared with the results of subtracting the contribution of the dipole anisotropy from the observational anisotropy obtained by Jahoda and Mushotzky (1989) on angular scales of 20 degrees in the direction of the Great Attractor and in the opposite direction.
