Data on the average surface magnetic field Bs for chemically peculiar stars are used to study the magnetic field dependence of their rotation periods. In order to exclude the effect of the age dependence of Bs (owing to the change in radius), the data were reduced to equal relative radii in the V-band luminosity. The resulting dependence is described, with sufficient confidence, by a second degree polynomial with a maximum at periods near P = 10 days. It is suggested that this dependence is a result of several processes that take place the early stages of evolution.
