Simple, one-dimensional model solutions are presented for equations describing the nonlinear ambipolar diffusion in dense interstellar clouds in which ions, cosmic rays, and the magnetic field are coupled. The only assumption inherent in the model equations is that the compression process in question is sufficiently fast for the relevant quantities to be scaled linearly with density. The origin of this compression need not be specified.
