The effective temperature and the bolometric correction for four normal non-supergiant stars are determined from visible spectrophotometry, IUE data and Kurucz' models. The method applied does not require any a priori knowledge of the apparent angular diameter of the star. The excellent agreement of the results with those obtained by using the apparent angular diameter measured with the stellar interferometer at Narrabry Observatory demonstrates the soundness of the present approach. The paper shows how it is possible to overcome the limitation of direct measurement of angular diameters.
