Profiles of atmospheric temperature, humidity and ozone can be recovered
from the thermal emission spectra in the interval 400 to 1,500
cm-1 obtained from the Nimbus 4 satellite. The spectra can
also be used to study surface restrahlen effects and other geophysical
and meteorological phenomena.
