The paper examines the usefulness of the radiotelescope in determining molecular existence and structure in the universe. Among the substances that have been detected by the 100-m telescope are methanol, methyl formate, methyl amine, formamide, cyano-acetylene and formic acid. Attention is given to the expansion of spectral observations of neutral hydrogen, hydroxide, formaldehyde, and ammonia on extragalactic systems. The existence of water vapor in the spiral galaxy M33 has also been determined.
