Maps of 3C 319 made with the VLA at 1.48 and 4.89 GHz show the source to have an elongated double structure and a distribution of radio spectral index which support identification of the entire structure with an 18.5-mag elliptical galaxy located near its radio centroid. A bright radio 'head' at the northeastern end of the source is resolved by the 1.3-arcsec beam at 4.89 GHz, and the position of its radio peak is about 0.7 arcsec from an approximately 20-mag diffuse optical object. This object may be a galaxy that is unrelated to 3C 319, or it may be optical emission from the northeastern radio lobe.
