Stellar Statistics: Parallaxes, Stellar Statistics: Galaxy

Scientific paper

The author presents mean parallaxes and the number of stars down to 23rd magnitude in Johnson's BVR system, which corresponds to present-day observational material. The data were calculated on the basis of two integral equations of stellar statistics with the use of the model of the Galaxy which involves a disk with main-sequence stars and giants of population I, a thick disk, and a spheroid. The mean parallaxes are calculated for intervals of 10° and 45° on the Galactic latitude and longitude, respectively.
