UBVRI polarimetric and photometric observations of the asteroid 1620 Geographos were made during four nights in September 1994. The wavelength dependence of inversion angle obtained for Geographos differs noticeably from that of another S-type asteroid 4179 Toutatis. Accurate measurements of the polarization slope h are used to determine the asteroid's albedo (0.21 in the V band). The observations revealed no appreciable polarization of Geographos near the inversion point unrelated to the scattering plane as was found for Toutatis. Synchronous photometry of Geographos produced its composite light curve which is of a rather regular shape and has a large amplitude of 1.55m. Variations in the color indices B-V, B-R, and R-I are as large as 0.15m.
