We surveyed an exhaustive sample of star-forming regions in seven Local Group galaxies with 6-band HST imaging, to characterize the young stellar populations in these regions, that show a wide variety of properties. Results from the HST resolved study of this representative sample of young stellar complexes were used to calibrate integrated FUV and NUV measurements of SF regions across the whole extent of the galaxies, from GALEX wide-field imaging. The star formation in recent epochs is derived, combining UV, Halpha, and IR indicators. Results (intensity and structural characteristics of star formation, and dust extinction properties) are discussed in terms of global galaxy and environment properties.
