SPICA is the next generation infrared space-borne telescope mission led by Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) following AKARI. To realize the detection of the exo-planets, a mid-infrared coronograph as one of the SPICA instruments is under development. A laboratory experiment of coronograph with a shaped pupil mask has been performed. Achieved contrast is 1.1 × 10-7 which satisfies the requirement of SPICA (10-6) and is one of the highest contrasts demonstrated by a coronograph.
