We report H159α (λ=18 cm) observations of a long narrow, thermal spur, supposed to be emerging from the lar region S54. The spur has been previously detected at 1420, 2695 and 4750 MHz radio continuum and the H110α recombination line by Mülleret al. (1987), Physical parameters are derived from our H159α observations. A model for the radio continuum and radio recombination line emission suggest tthat the gas should be ionized by about 40 B1 stars with a mean stellar mass of 10M &sun; and an stellar density of 1M &sun;/pc3 into the region.
