We have developed a computational framework which will couple the models developed by the LWS program. Our approach is based on loose coupling of independent, asynchronously running codes. It is based on the combination of intelligent data channels and couplers linking the components of our models. InterComm provides the data channels as well as execution control for the coupled models. Overture is the basis for intelligent couplers to do the data manipulation needed for meaningful data exchange between components. The framework requires very minimal changes to any model for use. This talk will describe the framework architecture, how it is used, and present examples of coupled runs using the CISM codes.
