We present a new scaled-solar and alpha-enhanced simple stellar population (SSP) models as for several Lick/IDS indices using the Dartmouth stellar evolution models combined with high-resolution synthetic spectra. A detailed systematic variation of horizontal-branch (HB) morphology with age and metallicity is incorporated in order to represent the Milky Way globular clusters (MWGCs). From the comparison of our models of Mg b and Ca4227 with the MWGCs data set, we can confirm an enhancement of about 0.4 dex for Mg and about 0.2 dex for Ca, in agreement with the measured amounts from the high-resolution spectra of individual stars in MWGCs. We note that Balmer lines, particularly H gamma and H delta, of MWGCs are well reproduced by our alpha-enhanced models not only because of the combination of isochrone and spectral effects but also because of our reasonable HB treatment. Finally, the investigation of initial mass function (IMF) variations on Lick indices reveals that a giant-dominant IMF can be ruled out because the Balmer lines are too strong on the metal-poor side to be compatible with observations. Models are available upon request.
