Comets: Individual: 84P/ Giclas D/1931 R1
Scientific paper
We collected 182 observations of Comet P/Giclas from 1978--1993 and successfully linked them with three positions of Comet D/1931 R1 observed in September 1931; thus we confirmed the identity of both comets. We showed that a nongravitational deceleration exists in the motion of Comet P/Giclas, and we were able to determine values of the constant Marsden's nongravitational parameters as well as the parameters connected with the rotating and precessing nucleus of the comet.
