The use of time resolved far-ultraviolet photometry is very efficient in
discovering variable sources. We show that Ultra-compact X-ray sources,
cataclysmic variables, RR Lyrae and blue stragglers are easily found in
the cores of globular clusters. We used the solar blind channel of the
Advanced Camera for Surveys on the Hubble Space Telescope.
