We present Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE) observations of the Bright Star (BS) in the globular cluster 47 Tuc. This bright giant (V=10.7, B8 III) is a post-AGB object with an effective temperature Teff = 11,000 K, a surface gravity log g = 2.2, and a metallicity [Fe/H] = -0.76, a value consistent with the cluster mean. Its myriad spectral features allow us to constrain the abundance of C, N, O, Al, Si, P, S, Cl, and Fe, among other elements. The star's FUSE spectrum is remarkably similar to those of the Pop. I stars HD 1279 (B7 III) and HD 196519 (B9 III), which bracket it in the spectral sequence. In particular, all three show strong absorption from C II and C II* λ1037. Both field stars have infrared excesses and presumably shells. The spectrum shows absorption from interstellar H2, C II, N I, S III, Ar I, and Fe II. Many of these features exhibit broad wings that extend 100 km/s to the red. Whether these lines reveal absorption from a recently-ejected stellar envelope or high-velocity clouds along the line of sight to 47 Tuc remains to be determined.
