We describe the current status of a prototype for a large scale optical survey to search systematically for transient phenomenon down to optical m=17+ with an array of 0.4 meter telescopes. The current configuration can house up to 6 telescopes and is easily expandable to accommodate up to 19 telescopes on a single mount. Multiple groups of these systems placed in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres would cover the entire sky in less than a year. The same field is observed for up to 4 months allowing time-series observations for each detected object to be accumulated and variability of transient candidates to be analyzed. The TOSS system has been running for several years at UCSB. We will present the current state of the data, data analysis pipeline and data sets as well as options for the future.
