We present preliminary results of ISOPHOT oversampled mapping at 60, 100 and 160 μm for a sample of 8 interacting galaxy pairs. In several cases, particularly the less disturbed systems, we can clearly resolve the far-infrared (far-IR) emis- sion from individual components of the pairs. Exceptions in- volve two advanced mergers (Arp 299 and NGC 520) where our spatial resolution reveals little about the distribution of far- IR emission between the two components. We detect both com- ponents at both 60 and 100 m in all other pairs in our sample. The far-IR maps represent a step forward in both sensitivity and resolution over previous observations. We briefly discuss the star formation properties of these interacting systems as in- ferred from the ISOPHOT far-IR observations.
