Spitzer has been used to monitor the mid-IR evolution of SN 1987A over a 5 year period as it develops into a supernova remnant through interaction with its surrounding environment. This interaction is dominated by the collision of the ejecta with the pre-existing equatorial ring. The mid-IR continuum emission arises from primarily silicate dust that is collisionally-heated by the X-ray emitting plasma. Both the infrared and X-ray fluxes from the ring increase with time, keeping the infrared-to-X-ray flux ratio approximately constant over the last 3 years. The spectral shape of the IR emission has remained approximately constant over the last 5 years, suggesting that the dust temperature, and the plasma have remained fairly constant over that time period.
