We examine the star formation histories of galaxies in a redshift slice encompassing the z=0.83 cluster RX J0152.7-1357. We used a low-dispersion prism (LDP) in IMACS at Magellan to identify galaxies in environments ranging from the core of the massive cluster to the low-density field. Our survey has a high level of spectroscopic completeness ( 80% at the z-band selection limit of z=23.3 AB mag) and reaches a limiting stellar mass of M=2x1010 Msun. We utilize rest-frame colors and SFRs inferred from Spitzer MIPS 24 µm imaging for this mass-limited sample to study the dependence of galaxy star-formation histories on stellar mass and environment. We find that intermediate density regions (e.g. groups) outside of the cluster harbor an elevated fraction of red galaxies relative to the low-density field. We also find that at a fixed mass, the median SFR declines monotonically from low-density to high-density, similar to the trend found at z 0. This contrasts with other work at z 1 that find a reversal in the SFR-density relation. Our results imply that the processes that shut down star-formation at z 0.8 are present in groups and other dense regions of the field. The SFR-density trend that we observe likely reflects a changing mix of star-forming and non-star-forming galaxies rather than a change in SFRs for galaxies in different environments. As a consequence, the SFRs of star-forming galaxies, in environments ranging from small groups to clusters, appear to be similar and largely unaffected by the local processes that truncate star-formation at z 0.8.
